[...] We’re still a long way from actual primary voting, but it’s never too early for polling! In any case, Not Paul Begala at Blog, P.I directs our attention to the latest round of polling regarding the upcoming Democratic primary.

A primary is probably the best demonstration that plurality voting is crap. 62% prefer "not Hillary", but it looks like they'll end up with Hillary anyway. And, yet, people think that's a perfectly legitimate outcome.

Mike, it's actually quite remarkable that 77 percent of the electorate knows the major candidates at this juncture of the campaign season without a single television commercial running.

California isn't a state that Dems frequent like IA or NH, yet there's a very high awareness of the candidates. That all came from the internet and free media. It's usually the case that candidates need to communicate via TV, radio or direct mail to raise voters' attention.

This, in my opinion is a function of just how aggravated Dems are with the direction of the country. They're ready for someone new.

You'll have to excuse me, I think on a national level, not in terms of primaries, but it seems to me that the people that vote in primaries are some of the most intense supporters of the party. Is it really possible that Obama and Edwards don't have name recognition among hard-core democrats?

I can understand nationally there are people that don't know them, but at the center of their own party?

Edwards continues to chase the Daily Kos vote...

John Edwards is really pulling out all of the stops in pursuing the Daily Kos vote. Observe the following blog ad: Note the color scheme of the ad: Orange, and a shade of orange very close to the Daily Kos......
