Like Michael Kinsley, I’ve never seen a full episode of “Law & Order,” so I’m sure there’s a better analogy — but in the will-FDT-run-or-won’t-he whodunit, will this prove to be the smoking gun?
Ryan Sager says “dun dun”, which I just don’t see at all. (Although it’s marginally better than “doink doink”, I suppose.)
(If Thompson does end up running, the first thing he’s going to have to do is resolve this. The American people will demand a clear, unambiguous onomatopoeia - he can’t say “thunk thunk” to one constituency and “chung chung” to everyone else.)
